WELCOME TO
The Pleasure Lab
for Women
Honest, judgement-free conversations about sex, desire and pleasure. For women, hosted by a woman who has been exactly where you are.
Sometimes it's online from your couch with a wine in hand. Sometimes it's a room full of bubbles, toys and laughter in Auckland or other NZ cities. Always real, always warm, never awkward. Here's what's coming up.

Q&A
For years I thought something was wrong with me. I enjoyed sex. I'd experimented, I'd been with plenty of different partners. But no matter what I tried, I couldn't get there. So I did what a lot of us do. I stopped expecting it, and I got on with my life.

Turns out there was nothing wrong with me at all. I'd just never been taught how any of this actually works.

That's the thing nobody says out loud. Only around 30% of women reliably orgasm from penetrative sex alone, and most of us need clitoral stimulation to get there. That's not a small footnote. That's the majority of us, quietly wondering why the thing we've been told is normal isn't happening, and assuming we're the problem.

We're not the problem. We're just working with information nobody ever gave us.

So that's what this session is. An hour of the real, unvarnished lowdown on female orgasm. Why it's genuinely harder for us than we've been led to believe. Why so many women fake it, and why so many give up altogether. What's actually going on in your body, in plain English. Then 30 minutes to ask me anything you like.
And the practical, evidence-based stuff that changes things for most women once they know it.

It's an honest conversation about a serious subject. It's also going to be fun, because learning about pleasure should be.

What we'll cover
The orgasm gap, and why it exists (spoiler: it's not you)
What your anatomy is actually doing, and the parts nobody bothered to mention
The role of desire, arousal and context, and why the order matters more than you think
What the research says about closing the gap, and what you can do about it

Who it's for
Women anywhere in New Zealand (and beyond). Whether you've never orgasmed, orgasm sometimes but not reliably, orgasm alone but not with a partner, or you've simply given up wondering. You don't need a problem to be here. Curiosity is enough.
It felt deeply nourishing to step into a celebratory, educational, safe, and pleasure-focused space. Your generosity and sparkling zest really touched me. The conversations around toys, play and explosive orgasms continue. You are such an inspiration.

What is The Pleasure Lab?
Hi, I’m Rachel Strevens.

I’m a qualified sexologist, and I spend most of my time talking to women who have questions about their bodies, their relationships, and why some things don’t feel the way they used to. A lot of those questions are more common than you’d think.

Things like:
- Why am I rarely in the mood?
- Why is orgasm difficult for me?
- Has something shifted in my relationship?
- Is this just me, or is this normal?
The Pleasure Lab is where we actually talk about it. Part honest workshop, part wine-night with the girls. A group of like-minded women, no filters, no awkwardness, getting honest about sex, desire and female pleasure. We dig into how desire really works, how to feel more pleasure and have more (and better) orgasms, and what tends to get in the way of all of it.

Some months we meet online, so you can join from home in your comfies. Some months we get together in person in Auckland, with bubbles and a lot of laughter. Either way, you're welcome to join in as much or as little as you like. You never have to speak. You can listen, learn, and take away whatever is useful to you.

A lot of women who come along are in good relationships. They love their partner, but somewhere along the way life took over and sex slipped down the list. This is your chance to understand what's going on and reconnect with your own sense of pleasure.

And plenty come along on their own. Maybe you've recently come out of a long relationship. Maybe you've been single a while. Maybe you're finally ready to understand your own pleasure, for yourself and no one else. This is every bit as much for you. Some of the most powerful work happens in the in-between, after one chapter ends and before the next begins.
If this sounds like you, you're in exactly the right place.
THEY SHOWED UP. HERE'S WHAT THEY SAID.
What women say.
I wish more people would be interested in getting information like this out in the open. Rachel makes it easy & comfortable to talk openly.
PAULA - PLEASURE LAB ATTENDEE
The Pleasure Lab creates a remarkably safe, comfortable space to explore topics that are absolutely necessary for personal growth and intimacy. It left me reflecting deeply on things we don't talk about enough. Highly recommend!

YOUR HOST
Meet Rachel Strevens
I'm Rachel, a certified Sexologist, Sex Coach & Educator, Advocate for Female Pleasure, and founder of The Passion Project. I've spent years having the conversations that most people desperately want to have but don't know how to start.

I believe that pleasure is powerful. And I know from working with hundreds of women that most of us were never given the education we deserved — which leaves us quietly wondering if we're broken. We're not. We were just never taught.

The Pleasure Lab is my favourite thing to do. A room (or a Zoom) full of curious, brave women ready to learn, laugh, and finally get some answers.

BEFORE YOU COME ALONG
What to expect
You're never put on the spot
Speak up if you want, stay quiet if you prefer. Both are completely fine.
Questions can be anonymous
Send yours in beforehand or drop them in on the night. The ones you've been sitting on for years are exactly the ones we want.
Women only
From all walks of life, and every age and stage.
No judgement, ever.
Whatever you're curious about, you're not the only one wondering.
For online sessions.
You'll join by a private, secure Zoom link sent after you book. The session is live and never recorded. What's shared in the room stays in the room. All you need is a device, the free Zoom app, a quiet spot, and maybe a glass of wine.
For in person events.
Just bring yourself (and a friend if you like). We'll look after the rest.
QUESTIONS
Still on
the fence?
Will I have to speak or share anything personal? Not at all. You can be completely silent the entire session if that's what you are comfortable with. However, it is a safe and supportive environment, and I do my best to ensure people are comfortable enough to ask their questions - but if you'd rather stay quiet and just listen, that is completely fine too.
These are the questions women commonly ask before they sign up.
Are the online sessions recorded? No — the live session is not recorded and distributed. This is an intentional choice to ensure the space feels private and safe. What's shared in the room, stays in the room.
Who else will be in the session? Women only — from all walks of life. Other events have included women in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60's, in long-term relationships, newly single, and everything in between. Everyone is there for the same reason: to learn and to feel less alone.
Is this going to be weird or uncomfortable? Honestly? There's usually laughter within the first five minutes. I have a knack for making this stuff feel completely normal — warm, direct, and not awkward at all. Most women leave wondering why they waited so long.
I'm in a happy relationship — is this still for me? Absolutely. Many women who come along are in long-term relationships and simply want to understand themselves better, reconnect with desire, or deepen intimacy with their partner. You don't have to have a "problem" to benefit.
What do I need to join an online session? Just a device with internet access and Zoom installed (free). You'll receive a private Zoom link via email after booking. We recommend a quiet spot, maybe a glass of wine, and an open mind.
